Finding Bobbie Fisher —The Light House - Where Would Your Ship Be

Filed Under (Articles) by admin on 29-05-2006

There is an old tradition song called, The
Lighthouse and the end of the chorus goes
something like this, “If it weren’t for that old
Lighthouse. Where would this ship be?”

In a scene from the movie Finding Bobbie Fisher,
Bobbie is sitting next to his girlfriend under a
lighthouse and she says to him. “This is so
beautiful Bobbie where did you find such a place
with a lighthouse?” and Bobbie replies, “I didn’t
find it, it found me.”

Years ago the only way ships could tell where
their final destination happen to be was by the
dim light shining in the distance from an old
lighthouse. Today, with technology lighthouses are
mostly landmarks and reminders of what shipping
use to be like. But when you find one, there is
something special about them to experience.

You see we didn’t find Jesus he found us first.
He chose us, and he knew that we were something
special when he saw us from a distance. “Ye have
not chosen me, I have chosen you and ordained you
that ye should go and bear forth fruit, and your
fruit shall remain; that whosoever shall ask of
the father in my name, he may give it to you.”
John 15:16. Jesus is our lighthouse and when we
experience him there is something beautiful about
that place. We can’t take a real lighthouse with
us, but the light that Jesus shines on us and
lights our paths ever where we go can always
remain in our hearts.

There are times when we want to feel special
inside. And most of the time this world won’t give
us that hug or encouraging word at that right
moment

The Truth About Red Wine and Heart Disease

Red Wine, Heart Disease, Hungry Sharks and Knights in Shining Armor

What is so special about wine? What is it that makes it potentially more protective against coronary heart disease, and perhaps other diseases, that other forms of alcohol?

In recent years, scientists have concluded without doubt that many human diseases such as heart disease, cancer and the aging process is caused or stimulated by a ravenous group of chemicals called free radicals, that act like hungry sharks. These highly charged little villains prowl the body and attack healthy cell membranes through a process that is called oxidation. In this scenario, there is however a knight in shining armor that jumps to the rescue and purges these ever hungry little killers. The name of our crusader is antioxidants.

Without getting too technical, the oxidation process in our bodies is crucial for health, without it, for instance, we would not be able to extract energy from our food. But if there are too many free radicals in our bodies this can be harmful.

Our body has its own defenses against free radicals, in the form of enzymes that are able to turn the hungry little sharks into harmless water. However, sometimes our body’s natural defense mechanisms can’t cope. Other times, external events can cause huge increases of free radicals within our bodies, such as x-rays, cigarette smoke and exposure to toxic substances. At times, this surge of free radicals can swamp our defenses and illnesses such as radiation sickness may take place.

So what does oxidation

The Primer on Digital Camera Printers

Filed Under (Articles) by admin on 29-05-2006

Once you have clicked photos through your digital camera, then the next step is to turn these ‘virtual’ images into real photos. One way is to send the memory card to a digital photo laboratory and get the images developed there. But if you click digital photos on a regular basis, then it is better that you buy yourself a digital camera printer, or more commonly known as a digital photo printer.

There are lots and lots of choices available in the market today. The top three companies are HP, Canon and Epson. So, before you go and spend your money, here are some tips on what you must keep in mind while deciding on a digital photo printer.

Firstly, digital photo printers are available in two basic types. There are 4-color printers and 6-color printers. Nowadays, there are even 8-color printers available. So, the higher the number of colors the better will be the photo quality once you have hit the print file button. Using good quality photo paper and one of the 8 color printers will give you results that rival your photo lab.

Secondly, the printing method used by the printer is also very important. There are 2 main printing methods: inkjet and thermal. Inkjet is commonly used for taking photo prints but the quality of the printout is not excellent. You need to have at least a 6-color printer to get decent print quality. Also, the ink cartridges are quite expensive and the biggest disadvantage is that inkjet printing
