Lose Weight with One Simple Mindset

Filed Under (Articles) by admin on 20-09-2006

Diabetes is one of the fastest growing diseases today. One of the things dealing with diabetes is maintaining consistent sugar levels in the blood stream.

No matter if you have diabetes or not, you probably have experienced times in the day when you could just lay down on the couch and take a nap. In many cases, this is not because you are tired, it is because you have elevated your sugar levels in your blood, either by not eating for a period of time or eating to much during a meal. We eat a big lunch, or foods filled with starches and at 2:00 we need a nap.

Here is what else happens when blood sugars are low, we have a don’t care attitude. In other words we make poor choices in what to eat, just to make us feel better. I get a little irritated when my blood sugar levels are low. This is when I could care less about good of bad food.

So a good simple mindset when we get up in the morning is; maintain my sugar levels today. Here are some suggestions:

Put some snacks like nuts in your car incase your energy crashes and burns.

What the portions of foods at each meal.

Eat more of your complex carbohydrates for breakfast.

Increase the amount of protein in your meals.

Eat less rice, breads and pastas at meals.

Try not to allow five hours between grazing.

The fact is you are not burning many calories when your blood sugar levels are low. You will

Increase Your Intelligence With Music

You Are What You Listen To

Can music really help you think better? Yes, according to the research that has been done so far.

Listening to, and participating in music creates new neural pathways in your brain that stimulate creativity. Studies have shown that music actually trains the brain for higher forms of thinking. There was a study at the University of California, for example, about 10 years ago.

Researchers followed the progress of three year olds, split into two groups. The first group had no particular training in, or exposure to music. The second group studied piano and sang daily in chorus.

After eight months the musical three year olds were much better at solving puzzles. When tested, they also scored 80% higher in spatial intelligence than the non musical group. With such a dramatic difference, there is bound to be more research like this in the future.

There is also anectdotal evidence that listening to music, especially from Mozart’s era, can help you study and learn better. Hopefully there will be research done to confirm or disprove this soon, but there is really no good reason not to do your own experimentation in this area. Stephen King writes with loud rock music playing, so maybe any benefits here are according to your own tastes or brain-organization.

Brainwave Entrainment

Want to listen to some music, and get smarter? There are a number of products out there that are based on an entirely different principle than the research mentioned above. They rely on “entraining” your brainwaves, in

Breast Reduction - Cosmetic Surgery

Filed Under (Articles) by admin on 20-09-2006

Breast reduction procedures are becoming more and more popular these days. This surgery is known as mammaplasties.

Large breasts can cause various medical problems due to the excessive weight on the chest in addition to skeletal deformities and sometimes breathing problems. Disproportionately large breasts can also lead to extreme self-consciousness.

Breast reduction is designed for women with these problems. The procedure removes particular amounts of fat, glandular tissues and skin from each side of the breasts. This allows the breast to become smaller, lighter and more firm. The surgery also can reduce the size of the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple).

The goal of the breast reduction surgery is to give the woman smaller, firmer and better shaped breasts that will be more in proportion to her body.

Recovering from a breast reduction procedure is very similar to other breast surgery recoveries. After the surgery has been completed, you will be wrapped in an elastic bandage or a surgical bra. A small tube may also be attached in each breast to drain excessive blood and fluids.

Although this procedure is safe and has very few complications, you may feel some pain for the first couple of days, especially when you are moving around. General discomfort may last a week or longer, but your doctor will give you medication to ease the pain.

Most women can return to work and social events after around two weeks, granted they are avoiding strenuous activity.
